The brilliant red tones at the base of the bowl are highlighted by the bands of Silky Oak above. The non conforming grain pattern of the Silky Oak just adds character and interest.
I have left the redwood in its natural state, no filler for the insect holes. This to me shows of the fabulous Australian hardwood. Nice thick walls finish this bowl off, it is sturdy and there is weight to it.
It won't blow off your hall table.
